Teen Commandments are a band that's all about having a good time. Brooklynites by way of Texas, their music sounds like the soundtrack of a mid 80s John Hughes film recorded by Vince Clarke on uppers. T.C. don't do the somber, introspective synth stuff that seems to be everywhere these days. Instead, they craft joy filled synthpop that's ready to kill that bug up your ass and get you moving. Playing dance music live is no easy task, but Teen Commandments are damn good at it. They electrified the packed house at Rough Trade two Saturdays ago with a set that oozed infectious energy.
